Minnesota Top Agents is an independent digital publisher and directory focused on Minnesota real-estate agents. Each published profile is evaluated on five dimensions — local knowledge, client reviews, market expertise, communication, and specialization fit — and nobody can pay to rank higher. That is the whole point: no pay-to-rank.
The publisher and organizational author is Minnesota Top Agents. We use an organizational byline because no individual writer or licensed real-estate professional is represented as the author. It describes public-source research by this publication—not a claim that a named reviewer personally hired or transacted with every agent.
Buying or selling a home is the biggest financial decision most people make, and the tools for choosing an agent are mostly pay-to-play — referral networks that take a cut of the commission, or listicles where placement is bought. We wanted the opposite: a directory where the ranking is earned, applied identically to every agent, and explained in the open.
No agent can buy a ranking, a score, or a favorable review. Where sponsorship may exist in the future, it would appear in a clearly labeled module outside the editorial ranking — never a higher score, numbered position, or favorable verdict. Scores are computed the same way whether or not an agent has any commercial relationship with us.
We are not a brokerage, we do not represent buyers or sellers, and we are not paid by the agents we rank to rank them.
Each agent gets a 0–10 score, a weighted average of five dimensions: local knowledge (25%), client reviews (25%), market expertise (20%), communication (15%) and specialization fit (15%). The full method, including the calculation rule and what each dimension represents, is on our methodology page. Individual dimension scores are editorial evaluations, not measurements issued by a regulator or MLS.
For each of the 182agents we currently list, the facts — brokerage, service areas, years of experience, sales volume, and review counts and ratings — may be drawn from attributable public professional sources such as a brokerage page, official agent website, Zillow, Realtor.com or a public business profile. We prefer official records for regulated facts and corroborate material claims when another suitable source is available. A claim on an agent's own profile remains a stated claim; recording it does not independently verify it.
The 0–10 score itself is our editorial estimate derived from those signals — not a paid rating, not an average of user reviews, and not supplied by the agent. Public review totals can change after the displayed evidence-review date, and missing data means unverified or unrecorded—not zero.
Our complete source hierarchy, automation disclosure, publication workflow and correction policy are documented in our editorial standards.
If you are an agent and something on your profile is wrong — or you would like your profile corrected or removed — email the page URL, disputed field and supporting source. We review the strongest available evidence and would rather omit an uncertain value than preserve a known error.
